A good friend and I have been discussing this whole issue of whether libraries need to subscribe to databases any more. I’m really not taking the position that libraries don’t need them any more but I wonder about the self-defeating aspect of preaching something to students when they don’t see the value in it.

When I was thinking about starting a blog/homepage/Web site/aggregator I kept coming back to the issue of how the school library media center is perceived by its audience?
